black square around the model in MSP

hello:
  i have a question about ambient occlusion.sometimes when i adjusts the AO in MSP, maybe appear the black square around the model. if i reduce the “blue width” value, the black square will disappear, but somewhere to become granular or grainy in the render image.how to do solve the problem,or what causation can arose the
problem.

Hi,
Are you able to post a screen shot or, better yet, a simple scene file + model that shows the black square problem you are seeing?

Thank you for the screen shot.  From the look of it, it could potentially be a video driver error.  Could you post your video driver version here?  Make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

Does the error go away if you move the camera, or does it stay there in any camera position?

Thank you for answer! i have already post my driver image.if i move the camera the error don’t go away, only the position and the number of the black square be changed, but it exist all the same.if i change the other camera, the error still exist.

According to the image you posted, your driver version is 8.440.  This seems to be an old version.

I recommend seeing if the problem goes away with the latest FireGL V8650 driver from ATI.  The latest one seems to be 8.603.

Marie,

Which video card are you trying to update and what version of MachStudio Pro are you running? The post you are referring to is over six months old so that version of the drivers is now out of date.
